davie blint is an accomplished loop guitarist who creates dense, lush ambient
musicscapes fueled by active and unique guitar sounds. he brings a new
kind of ambience to pureambient.com, an ambience which is both fiery and
controlled. the debut
release for the label, "journey to the west", a musical
retelling of one of the most popular myths in Chinese history, only hints at what
davie blint is capable of musically.
the follow-up, "a dream of red
mansions" (released august 17 2002) is an even more diverse and remarkable
piece of work, addressing one of the other, monumental classic works of early
chinese literature.
the third CD, featuring full band ambience
and a remarkable 51 minute prog-ambient suite, "all
things being equal", is a new phase davie blint record, encompassing a wide
variety of styles and approaches.
the latest disc, "the machinations of heaven", explores the
quieter aspects of ambient and is a return to pureambient style.
